AZ Fitness is a family-owned gym in Garstang with a reputation for high-energy group training and strong community spirit. As an official HYROX-affiliated training centre and hosts of the AZ Games, the team wanted to elevate their facility to match their growing membership and ambitious event calendar. With over 50 classes per week, the goal was to enhance performance, variety, and member experience without losing the friendly, inclusive atmosphere that defines the gym.

The Challenge

Operating from a 3,000 sq ft facility, AZ Fitness needed a layout that could handle the demands of a packed timetable while supporting both group and individual training. The team wanted to integrate HYROX-style performance zones alongside open areas for functional movement, all within a cohesive design that reflected their ‘Decide. Commit. Succeed.’ philosophy.

The Solution

Gym Gear worked closely with AZ Fitness to optimise the layout, supply high-performance functional equipment, and align the space with the gym’s brand identity.

Functional training equipment: Curve Treadmills, Ski Max machines, Row Max rowers, airbikes, standard treadmills, plyo boxes, kettlebells, and a sled track for HYROX drills.
Storage and space optimisation: Custom storage units to maximise usable space and improve class flow.
Zoned layout: Clear division between cardio, functional strength, and open training areas to suit both small group sessions and large-scale events.
