The Birmingham site presented an opportunity to replicate the success of their previous workplace gym, creating a space that would encourage staff to stay active, motivated, and connected.

The Challenge
The gym was to be installed in an L-shaped room, which required careful spatial planning to create distinct training zones without overcrowding. The brief focused on providing a facility that could meet the needs of a large and diverse workforce, combining cardio, HIIT, functional, and strength training areas. Ensuring the space was safe, accessible, and engaging for all employees was a key priority.
The Solution
Using 3D Gym Design software, Gym Gear’s design team developed a layout that optimised flow and usability. The final plan incorporated three defined zones:
Cardio zone featuring Gym Gear Entertainment Series machines with built-in entertainment, internet, TV, fitness tracking, and Virtual Go interactive programmes.
HIIT cardio zone equipped with the Tornado Airbike and Blade 2.0 Rower for high-intensity workouts.
Functional and strength zone including a Spartan Studio Rig with attachments for group circuit sessions, plus free weights and a dual pulley machine for versatile strength training.
3D visuals and walkthroughs were shared with the client to finalise the design before proceeding with delivery and installation.
The Result
The completed facility has exceeded expectations, providing an engaging gym environment that caters to all fitness levels and training styles.
The layout promotes both individual and group activity, fostering teamwork and boosting morale across the workforce. The result is a well-designed corporate gym that enhances employee wellbeing and supports a positive workplace culture.
