We may have started 2021 with another national lockdown, but that doesn’t mean this year isn’t full of opportunities.
Now is still a great time to work on your fitness and, if you’ve been busy setting fitness resolutions for 2021, this blog post might be able to help you.
From taking on monthly challenges to making changes to your diet, there are so many New Year’s Resolutions that you make to help you reach your fitness goals this year.
Monthly fitness challenges
Taking part in monthly fitness challenges is an excellent way to motivate yourself, focus your exercise efforts, and get variety throughout the year.
A monthly fitness challenge could be anything from going for a walk every day for a month to running 10k every day. Which challenge you choose to do entirely depends on your fitness levels and what you want to achieve.
You can create your own or find inspiration from online articles such as this one from My Crazy Good Life.
Make some dietary changes
Even small changes in your diet can impact your overall health and fitness levels.
This January, think about what you’d like to achieve fitness-wise, then think about how your diet can support those goals.
For example, if you’d like to gain muscle, there are specific foods that you can be eating to help with that, all of which should strike the right balance between providing you with carbohydrates, fats, and protein.
Trying new equipment
It’s easy to find yourself getting stuck in the same fitness routines, and New Year’s Resolutions are a great opportunity to start trying new things.
Why not try a new activity or piece of fitness equipment in each month of 2021? Even if you don’t stick with all of them, you’ll certainly expand your repertoire.
If you’d like to try out some new equipment, we have training equipment for all kinds of exercise and ability.
For beginners, slam balls, power bands, and cross trainers could be great ways to start spreading your fitness wings. If you’re a more seasoned gym buff, why not try upping your weight of dumbbells and free weights? Or setting yourself more strenuous fitness goals for the year?
Stick to rest days
At Gym Gear, we know that many of our customers love the gym so much that they just can’t keep away!
However, rest days are so, so important for your body to heal itself. If you struggle to stick to your rest days, perhaps 2021 could be your time to focus on the importance of resting between workouts.
If you don’t take rest days, you’re more likely to injure your tired muscles and tendons and start underperforming. Plus, if you’re not resting, you can very easily lose your motivation to train.
We offer our customers a wide selection of fitness equipment, including equipment for cardio training, strength training, functional training, and more. Take a look around our website to see the equipment we can offer your commercial or home gym.
