Objective
The main objective of this project was to bring new life into the under-utilised snooker club and to compliment the martial arts centre and cafe facilities with an equally impressive fitness centre, creating a social hub for the community.
Design and Planning
The main challenge with the gym design was ensuring enough variety of equipment within the space available, and ensuring the equipment included was in-line with modern fitness trends. For this project the 3D visuals we created were useful, however the virtual tour video was essential in ensuring there was plenty of space to navigate from one part of the gym to another with ease.
Equipment Installed
Due to the demographic spread in the local area, it was important to include general cardio and strength equipment alongside more specialist equipment. With this in mind Gym Gear, Elite Series strength machines were chosen alongside our 97 series range of cardio and T98 treadmills. With the popularity of High intensity training the Tornado Air Bike and Concept 2 rowing machines were fitted to facilitate HIIT style workouts. A range of free weights and Sterling Plate loaded machines have been fitted including half rack and lifting platform for a range of strength training exercises.
Outcome
The village of Stubbington and surrounding areas now enjoy a Sports Club with fantastic facilities including a modern gym with free weights, cardio, and HIIT cardio alongside bar and cafe facilities, and the renowned IESKA Academy for Karate. A variety of fitness classes and dance classes are also hosted in the studio. All ages are welcome to come along and improve their health and fitness and socialise with like-minded people. Stubbington Sports Club has been transformed from a run-down snooker club to a social hub of wellbeing for the local community.
