Yateley School Gym Design, Install at Yateley in Hampshire

Introduction

Yateleys School, a highly regarded 11-18 comprehensive school, is known for its superb range of facilities across all areas of the curriculum. The school has held specialist status in performing arts since 2002, reflecting its commitment to providing students with a well-rounded educational experience. In line with its focus on student health and well-being, Yateleys School sought to revamp its fitness suite to offer a modern, functional space that would encourage active lifestyles among students and staff. Gym Gear was selected for the project due to our industry-leading equipment, comprehensive service support, and proven work ethos.

Gym design

The design phase was focused on creating a more efficient and dynamic layout to meet the evolving fitness needs of the school community. The fitness suite was restructured to introduce two key workout zones: a cardio area and a free weights section, allowing for a more organized and accessible environment. To further optimise space, Pro Series Dual Strength equipment was installed, offering multiple exercise options within a compact footprint.

To enhance the variety of training modalities available, the following state-of-the-art equipment was introduced:

• Rhino Pro for versatile strength and functional training.
• SC8 StairClimber to provide challenging cardio workouts.
• Ski Max and Bike Max for endurance and full-body exercise options.

In addition, the flooring was upgraded to meet the demands of specific workout zones, with rubber flooring installed in the free weights area and spin studio to ensure safety and durability, while Karndean Luxury Vinyl Tiles were used in the cardio zone and the remainder of the gym to offer a sleek and professional finish.

Delivery and installation

The installation process, conducted between August 19th and 23rd, was carried out with minimal disruption to the school’s operations. Gym Gear’s experienced team handled the delivery and installation of the equipment, ensuring a seamless and efficient process. As part of the refurbishment, Yateleys School also redecorated the gym, including new paintwork, the installation of mirrors, and upgraded lighting, to create a brighter, more welcoming atmosphere.

Outcome

The redesigned fitness suite has successfully transformed into a modern and motivating space that promotes physical well-being among students and staff. The clear delineation of workout zones, combined with the introduction of new equipment, has greatly enhanced the gym’s functionality and appeal. Yateleys School praised Gym Gear for the quality of the equipment, the supportive service package, and the professionalism shown throughout the project. The revamped gym is now a standout feature of the school’s facilities, reflecting Yateleys School’s ongoing commitment to providing excellent amenities for its students.
