FMG Project

Introduction

Gym Gear has recently been working with Friday Media Group on a brand new gym facility for the FMG Project. The FMG Project is a Brighton-based community project funded by the Friday Media Group. The FMG Project is a gym venue for sports groups, academy pupils, educational groups and charities, and will provide opportunities for local kids, adult groups and more, using fitness and sport as our vehicle to create a positive impact. The main aim of this project is to:

• Give access to sports, education and facilities to those that might not otherwise have the opportunity. 
• Provide pathways to achieve excellence in sport.
• Create motivation and a positive attitude.
• Teach young people to channel their energy positively.
• Help people to develop a healthier lifestyle.
• Teach life skills: commitment, communication, friendships.

We worked closely with the Friday Media Group to pull together a wishlist of equipment suitable for the FMG Project’s facility and its requirements. Once the equipment list was approved we moved onto our 3D design and planning stage.

Gym Design

We created 3D visual designs of the gym plan and layout which gave a visual representation of what the gym facility would look like. This gave the owner an idea of how much equipment they could fit in and how much room they would have for movement around the gym. Once the 3D designs were approved we then moved onto delivery and installation. 

Installation

A range of equipment was delivered and installed at FMG Project from Cardio and Strength equipment through to Free Weights, Accessories and Flooring. Cardio Equipment delivered and installed includes our Gym Gear T98 Treadmill, X97 Cross Trainer, Pursuit 2.0 Bike and a Tornado Airbike. Strength and Free Weights delivered and installed includes an Elite Series Dual Adjustable Pulley, a Sterling Series Half Power Racks, a Sterling Series Adjustable benches, a Sterling Series 45 Degree Leg Press, a Rubber Dumbbell Set, Standard Olympic Bars and our Coloured Rubber Bumper Plates. Accessories delivered include a Medicine Ball Set, a Slam Ball Set, a Kettlebell Set, a Performance Bag Set, Soft Plyo Boxes, a 3 in 1 Plyo Box, a Prowler Seld, an XPO Trainer, Power bands, a Battle Rope, Suspension Trainers and our Premium Sport Mats. This whole gym facility was finished off with two Sprint Tracks and our 20mm & 30mm Premium Black Rubber Flooring Tiles, 30mm Premium Rubber Ramped Edges and our Premium Corner Ramped Edges. 

Outcome

The outcome of the FMG Project is an impressive urban warehouse-style gym, fully kitted out with a wide range of equipment to teach functional movements, S&C and circuit training. It is everything that the Friday Media Group wanted to create and will provide opportunities for local kids, adult groups and more.
