Totally Wicked

Intro

As great investors in people, and part of their continued effort to enhance staff wellbeing, Totally Wicked have recently invested in refurbishing their Blackburn office to include a state of the art staff gym.

Objective

Totally Wicked recognise that workforce health and fitness is directly linked to employee wellbeing, and ultimately productivity. A healthier workforce is a happier workforce, and providing a corporate gym not only provides immediate health benefits, but can be a great outlet for stress. Recent studies have indicated that more than 13 million work days a year are lost due to stress-related illnesses. By providing a corporate gym Totally Wicked are helping keep employees feeling healthy, energised and productive.

Design

The gym has been carefully designed to provide a zone for cardio vascular and  HITT training, along-side a strength and free weights zone. It was essential that enough space was provided to safely navigate around the equipment from one side of the gym to the other. With several plate loading strength machines it was important to consider access space  for changing the weights over was substantial enough. Using our 3D gym design software we were able to walk through the virtual gym to ensure the equipment was sufficiently spaced from a health and safety viewpoint.

Equipment Supplied

Following various consultations with their workforce, Totally Wicked wanted to include a good mix of cardio and strength equipment. State of the art GymGear entertainment series cardio was installed alongside our Tornado airbikes for those wanting a quick HIIT workout. The strength equipment selected was largely from our sterling series plate loaded range with a select few Elite Series cable machines. Our 30mm premium rubber gym floor tiles were fitted throughout the gym to protect the concrete sub floor and increase the life span of the free weights equipment.

Outcome

Totally Wicked have done a great job in encouraging their workforce to use the corporate gym with incentives in place to provide the time out required to exercise. Flexible working hours have also been an essential part of the on boarding process. The long term benefits of this gym are yet to been seen but the short term feedback has been great with many of the staff engaging in a higher level of exercise.
